Keto Breakfast That Will Satisfy You

It is no myth that breakfast is the most essential meal of the day. It is your first dose of fuel for the day, and any nutritionist will tell you that breakfast is key for an effective weight loss diet. Breakfast is said to break the overnight fasting period, replenish your glucose levels, and provides vital nutrients that will keep you energized throughout your day. A proper breakfast will kick-start your metabolism and helps you burn calories as you go about your daily routine. Many studies have linked a good breakfast to better memory and concentration for students of all ages. It can help lower levels of “bad” LDL cholesterol, and lower chances of getting diabetes, heart disease, and being overweight.

The Importance of Breakfast on Keto

If you are on the Keto diet, then you already know the importance of each meal and how it helps your stay in ketosis. Breakfast is no exception! You are technically forcing your body into ketosis, by burning fat for energy instead of carbohydrates. The best part about breakfast on the Keto diet, is that when you first wake up your body is in fat burning mode. In the morning, any dietary fat that you consume will boost your metabolic system. Your very first meal of the day is essentially programing your metabolism for the rest of the day. When you pair your Keto breakfast with one of our Keto friendly desserts, you are establishing a foundation for your body to function at peak performance.

Satisfying Keto Breakfast Ideas

It may seem like breakfast on the Keto diet is limited and lack-luster. No more glaze covered pastries, or bagels lathered with butter, but what if I told you, you can accompany each of your breakfast entrees with some satisfying PBH keto friendly desserts. In my experience, I eat less snacks throughout my work day when I stick with a hearty breakfast. Even if you are only having a few slices of bacon before you hit the road, I guarantee that ending your breakfast with one of our Keto friendly cookies, or keto friendly donuts, will make your day go by much smoother. Not only will you encounter less sugar cravings, but our Keto desserts will satisfy the sweet tooth while encouraging your body to stay in ketosis.

Keto Breakfast Power Bowl Recipe

My favorite style of keto breakfast is hands down the power bowl! You can combine together all your keto essentials in a skillet for a quick and hearty breakfast bowl. Start with 2-3 large eggs and begin adding any fatty meats you can find. This is where even leftovers from last night’s keto recipe can be used to make a magical breakfast. Break up your beef patty, or slice up some of yesterday’s sausage. Add in a few diced onions and radishes. Even if you are missing potato in your breakfast bowl, you can easily replace this with seasoned turnips. Load on some avocado slices, cheese crumbles, and jalapenos to finish off your breakfast bowl. Then, after you’ve had your breakfast bowl you can end this meal with one of our Keto friendly donuts. I will usually start my day with a Keto Cinnamon donut, or Keto Vanilla donut with a hot cup of coffee.

Keto Protein Rich Smoothie Ideas

Another, wonderful breakfast idea is to make a protein-rich smoothie that you can serve and take with you to school or the office. The key here is to focus on including as many high protein and high fat ingredients as possible. If you are going to make a green smoothie you can add in any of the following: kale, avocado, coconut cream, mint leaves, or chia seeds. For a thicker green smoothie, try adding in spoonful of plain greek yogurt. If you decide to try out this green smoothie, I recommend pairing it with our Keto Lemon Coconut cookies to curb your sugar cravings. Don’t enjoy green smoothies? Then, try a nut butter based smoothie! These are incredibly creamy and have a ton of protein. You can choose from almond butter, coconut butter, and even macadamia nut butter. These are best with almond milk and a scoop of your favorite Keto protein powder. Pair this luscious smoothie with our Keto Double Chocolate donut or Keto Double Chocolate cookie for a chocolatey breakfast that will kick start your day!

Keto Breakfast Egg Muffin Recipe

If you are the type of person who enjoys planning out each meal before the week begins, then this next idea is perfect for you! Perhaps, the easiest of all these Keto breakfast ideas are breakfast egg muffins. All you need to do is whisk your eggs together with salt and pepper. I usually recommend one large egg per breakfast muffin. Pour into your muffin pan and then come the really yummy part. Add in all you favorite cooked veggies, meats and cheeses. My usual favorites include a veggie and egg muffin, which includes feta cheese, spinach, tomatoes, and red onions, and a bacon and egg muffin, which features sharp cheddar, bacon, and broccoli. Once you have added your toppings, place your muffin pan into you oven for 12-15 minutes at 400 degrees fahrenheit. These egg muffins are absolutely scrumptious, and perfect to pair with our keto donuts. This is a breakfast that is sure to satisfy your hunger and your desire for a sweet snack.

I assure you that being on the Keto diet doesn’t have to ruin breakfast. I truly cannot stress the importance of starting your day with a substantial breakfast full of nutrients, and of course, promoting ketosis. According to the American Dietetic Association (ADA), eating breakfast gives you a well-rounded, complete diet, improved concentration and problem solving skills, strength and endurance gains, and lower cholesterol levels. Studies show that those who skip breakfast have an increased chance of becoming overweight, or obese.

Don’t let breakfast ruin your Keto diet! With the help of our very own PBH Foods desserts and some simple breakfast meal ideas, you too can have a successful weight loss journey!
